The Campion Group is one of the strongest financial groups operating in the Romanian insurance market since 2007. Campion Broker is the main component of the Group, holding a strong position in both the retail sector and the Corporate and SME segments, combining knowledge of the regional insurance market with local advantages.
Campion Broker began their digital journey with an InsurTech mobile application, aiming to simplify life for their 100K loyal customers.
The Problem
Our mission started by understanding the situation of the Romanian insurance market:
Outdated communication methods between brokers and customers, often relying on phone calls without any record or notes
No unified channel for sending notifications about insurance updates, making it harder for customers to manage their policies
Uninspiring insurance purchase processes
Excessive paperwork
No smooth process to compare and buy insurance from different providers
No simple way for one family member to manage and buy insurance for the entire family
The Solution
Campion Broker’s leaders realized that to truly engage customers in today’s world, it’s crucial to offer mobile solutions. They envisioned an insurance management and purchase process that felt cohesive and effortless for users.
When clients come to Devista, they begin the journey of crafting their mobile application. First, we assess the budget. As consultants, we scan the market to extract the maximum value possible. We’ve chosen Ionic for mobile development, a hybrid tool, to bypass the need for dual native mobile development. We also incorporated JHipster, which enhanced our API performance by 20%, providing a foundational codebase to build upon. For QA infrastructure, we rely on Bunnyshell. This tool liberates developers from tedious tasks that hinder progress, allowing the team to concentrate solely on coding.
The project was particularly challenging due to integrations. Consolidating data from numerous providers and presenting it in an intuitive yet attractive UI/UX was no small feat.
Ultimately, we crafted a mobile app with an intuitive navigation, pleasing UI/UX, underpinned by a seamless infrastructure hosted on Azure, and supported by a dependable, resilient, and robust API.
Through the application, a customer can do the following things:
- Send notifications to their consultant on various matters and monitor their chat history.
- Buy different insurances like car, property, and travel with ease and compare options.
- Manage their insurance policies.
- Oversee their vehicles and properties, getting updates and alerts related to them.
- Handle and buy insurance for their loved ones.
The Results
In reflecting upon our journey with Campion Broker, it’s evident how technology and innovation can redefine industry standards. Through our collaboration, we’ve not only constructed an intuitive platform but also ushered in a new era for the Romanian insurance market.
This application, blending both Campion Broker’s vision and Devista’s technical expertise, has been well-received by users. Since its launch, more that 50% of Campion Broker insurances are purchased through the app.
Furthermore, the seamless integration of varied insurance offerings and administrative functionalities has led to a marked increase by 30% in insurance purchases among younger demographics.
