Our client faced two significant strategic challenges essential for its continued growth and market leadership:

  • Unlocking a Seamless Omnichannel Experience: The company needed to connect its online inventory with its physical stores in near real-time. Without this capability, the company couldn’t offer crucial modern retail features like viewing store-specific stock online, which was a major friction point in the customer journey and blocked the implementation of a “Buy Online, Pick up in Store” (BOPIS) service.
  • Scaling Global Expansion Efficiently: The client’s ambitious plan to enter new international markets and integrate with major third-party marketplaces was incredibly complex. Each launch required massive coordination across dozens of internal and external teams, risking slow time-to-market, high costs, and inconsistent technical solutions. They required a dedicated architectural partner to lead and streamline this global initiative.

Solution

Devista was entrusted to provide the architectural vision and technical execution to solve these core challenges.

  • Near Real-Time Inventory Data Pipeline: To enable the omnichannel vision, our team designed and built a high-performance data pipeline to process and sync inventory for over 15 million records for a single market. The architecture featured:
    • An efficient daily data load with a zero-downtime deployment strategy.
    • A near real-time delta update mechanism running every 15 minutes to capture stock changes.
    • A robust API to feed enriched store inventory data directly to the client’s search engine, powering the new customer-facing features.
  • Global Expansion Solution Architecture: We took a leadership role as the Online Global Expansion Solution Architect. Our team acts as the central hub for all new market and marketplace launches, responsible for:
    • Coordinating all project phases from analysis to go-live, liaising with stakeholders across warehousing, legal, accounting, and logistics.
    • Designing scalable architecture diagrams and data flows for all core commerce processes (product, order, customer, and settlement).
    • Developing reusable “templates” and onboarding documentation that standardize the integration process, minimizing custom development and accelerating future launches.
